Where does ADVENTCHA© matcha come from?

Our matcha is from Japan and is grown across three regions, each chosen for the character it brings to the leaf: Wazuka, nestled in the mountains of Kyoto and long regarded as one of Japan's finest matcha-growing regions. The Yamato Highlands, where cooler air and higher elevation shape a naturally more vibrant, complex leaf. The Yamato Plateau, known for its rich soil and ideal growing conditions.

Across all three, the farmers grow the way matcha has always been grown — relying on nothing but soil, sun, rain, and shade. It's this connection to the land, and to the people who tend it, that shapes the flavour and quality in every cup.

How does ADVENTCHA© garuntee freshness and quality

Quality starts long before the product reaches you. We work directly with small Japanese farms — so traceability isn't an afterthought, it's built into the process from the ground up. Every batch is sourced, milled, and packed with care.

Our teas are packed in airtight, light-resistant packaging and tins to protect their integrity and preserve their vibrant taste until you're ready to start your ritual.

What you get is a cup that reflects the land it came from — nothing diluted, nothing rushed.

Best before dates

Matcha isn't like fresh produce — it doesn't spoil in the way raw food does. But because it's a milled tea, its flavour does shift gradually over time, and how it's stored plays a big part in that.

In line with Japanese labelling standards, we set our best before date at 6-8 months from milling. This reflects our responsibility to you, not a hard limit — under ideal conditions, such as cold storage around 5°C, matcha can remain safe and enjoyable well beyond that date.

The reverse is also true: if matcha is kept somewhere warm, such as during summer, its flavour and quality can begin to change even before the best before date passes.

Storage matters as much as time does — so keeping your matcha cool, sealed, and out of direct light is the simplest way.
